Though Margot Robbie didn’t play with Barbie dolls as a child, she was totally fascinated by the Mattel character’s iconic Dreamhouse. Her obsession began even before she landed the lead role in the upcoming highly-anticipated Greta Gerwig-directed live action film.

Before signing on to the movie, which was an easy decision, the actress revealed on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that she had one special request.

“I’ll follow your vision. Whatever you want this Barbie movie to be, let’s do that. Except I just have one favor,” she said to Gerwig, who directed 2019’s film adaptation of Little Women. “Please, please, please can we have a Dreamhouse where she has a slide that goes from her bedroom down to her pool, because that is my goal in life.”

The film debuts in theaters on July 21, and also stars Ryan Gosling, Dua Lipa, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Michael Cera and Issa Rae.

Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, pitched the Barbie film idea to Mattel in 2018.

“We of course would want to honor the 60-year legacy that this brand has,” she explained in an interview with Vogue. “But we have to acknowledge that there are a lot of people who aren’t fans of Barbie. And in fact, aren’t just indifferent to Barbie. They actively hate Barbie. And have a real issue with Barbie. We need to find a way to acknowledge that.”
