Health and wellness leader Melissa Wood-Tepperberg is all about prioritizing both physical and mental well-being. The 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie is the founder of MWH and host of the Move With Heart podcast.

In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday, Wood-Tepperberg teased her latest podcast episode and shared how she has gotten to know—and like—herself now that she’s reached the milestone age of 40. In the clip, she also spoke candidly about the role people pleasing often plays in happiness.

“I think a lot of the time we give everyone else control over our life, a lot of people pleasing...” Wood-Tepperberg noted. “The people that you’re trying to please are typically not your people.“

Later the same day, Wood-Tepperberg dropped the full pod episode, in which the mom of two dove into how the concept of people pleasing impacts how many of us live our lives. She then offered advice for taking control by focusing inward.

“It’s time for us to regain this control,” she added on IG.

Plenty of the model’s followers agreed with her refreshing point of view, which they shared in the comments.

“Love this attitude ❤️🙌 I’m turning 35 next month and feeling the same way 🔥🚀,” Ella Davar concurred.

“My girl 😍. 40’s are it,” gushed Sai De Silva.

“Sooo real. So glad I’m 28 and was able to learn a lot of these lessons in my late 20’s,” Chrissy Tracey wrote. “I feel lucky, I give myself so much grace.”

“The people that you’re trying to please are not your people that is so perfect!!” added one follower.
