Nicole Kidman Shares Video From ‘Practical Magic 2’ Set and Fans Are Beyond Excited

Nicole Kidman shared a sneak peek from behind the scenes of Practical Magic 2, and fans are already feeling enchanted.

In case you missed it, the beloved 1998 fantasy film Practical Magic is at long last getting a sequel nearly three decades later, with both of the leads—Kidman and Sandra Bullock—returning to reprise their roles as the witchy Owens sisters.

And this week, we got a glimpse at some of the movie-making magic going into the sequel thanks to Kidman’s Instagram account.

Captioning the video, “The witches are back ✨ Owens sisters’ first day on set! #PracticalMagic,” the eight-second clip showed a large camera pan around the two actresses as they embraced while standing in what appears to be a graveyard. After the hug, they looked at each other, both smiling and laughing as the crew continued to direct the scene.

Still, our favorite detail of the entire clip had to be the fabulous throwback ‘90s outfits. Both women wore ankle-length dresses, evoking the same iconic style present in the original film. Kidman wore a lace maroon number, which was paired with nude ballet-style flats. Her hair was also back to the same light ginger shade she had for the original film, which she pulled back into a low ponytail.

Meanwhile, Bullock donned a floral dress with lace detailing around the V-neckline, accessorizing further with dark brown flats. Her brunette hair was parted down the middle with several strands pulled back off of her lovely face, while the rest of her long tresses waved onto her shoulders.

And you better believe plenty of fans and famous friends alike were quick to flood Kidman’s comment section on Instagram to share their excitement for the upcoming project:

“👏👏👏👏,” Jessica Alba wrote.

“Over the moon on this! ❤️😘🧙‍♀️,” Patti Stanger exclaimed.

“❤️❤️❤️,” Lindsay Lohan added.

“Redhead Nicole Kidman will ALWAYS make me happy no matter what,” one fan noted.

“OMG! They’re back! I can’t wait to watch this. 🤧❤️❤️❤️,” another fan concluded.

The spell is cast. The date is set. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return. Only In Theaters September 18, 2026.

Kidman also revealed to Variety that making a second film was always on their minds. The actress even noted that she and Bullock were thinking about sequel possibilities as early as during filming on the first movie.

“When we were making it, we definitely did,” Kidman told the outlet back in May. “We’re so excited. Yes, yes, beyond excited. You heard our spell. We put out our spell already.”

The film is currently scheduled to be released on Sept. 18, 2026, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to see what these witchy sisters have been up to—but until then, you can find us dancing around to the soundtrack from the original film.
