Nyma Tang Wins the YouTube Creator Award for Contributions to the Beauty Industry

The influencer has done much in the way of highlighting a lack of inclusivity in the industry while taking steps to change that.

Though admittedly not good at celebrating herself, beauty influencer Nyma Tang admitted in a recent “get ready with me” video that her latest award is certainly one worth commemorating. The YouTuber recently took part in the platform’s new documentary series, Flowers, which “highlights the brilliance of Black creators, amplifies their voices, and pays homage to their inerasable mark on our digital world,” according to a YouTube blog post.

The social media influencer was included in the documentary due to her “unwavering commitment to inclusivity,” which “shattered color barriers as she and her peers forced a conversation about the lack of inclusivity in makeup products. Her work—along with the efforts of many other Black beauty creators—have changed and shaped the beauty industry,” the blog post expressed.

Not only was Tang asked to participate in the meaningful series, but, on top of it all, she won a YouTube Content Creator Award for her contributions to the beauty industry. Of course, she showed up to the ceremony in her best and brightest style: a beaded silver Zara dress with sequined Versace heels to match.

“YOU DESERVE!” one follower exclaimed in the comment section of Tang's Instagram post commemorating the night.

“Nyma congrats! You look amazing your dress is just divine 😍😍😍,” another gushed of her award and her style.

From watching the influencer’s content over the years—and getting to know her on the set of her SI Swimsuit photoshoot in 2021—we can attest that she has worked hard to create change in the industry. And she deserves every bit of the recognition for it.
