Olivia Dunne Talks Sharing the Wealth Among Fellow Women Athletes in the October Issue of ‘Sports Illustrated’
Olivia Dunne’s gymnastics career at LSU has been marked by major success both on and off the mat. She has built her social media following from the ground up, and with it has come major brand deals courtesy of NIL. She is currently one of the highest-paid athletes in all of college sports, third only to Bronny James—the son of NBA legend LeBron James—and Shedeur Sanders. But along with developing her personal business acumen has come a desire to promote that of her fellow female athletes at LSU.
Her unparalleled success in the realm of NIL brand deals and partnerships has garnered further media attention for the gymnast. She will grace the October cover of Sports Illustrated alongside fellow LSU athlete, basketball player Angel Reese.
This year has brought several accomplishments for the gymnast—including, among other honors, a feature in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue—inspiring her creation of The Livvy Fund, “a program within the school’s collective to connect other LSU women athletes with brands,” per Sports Illustrated.
Not only does she wish to grow her own brand, but Dunne hopes to contribute to the brands of fellow female athletes at LSU. In her new cover story, she admitted to feeling compelled to share her successes. “Me being at the forefront, the most important thing for me was to give back,” she stated.
With the Sports Illustrated cover feature, Reese and Dunne shared in conversations surrounding their success with NIL, and their desire to inspire others—at LSU and elsewhere—to find similar success. This year, the gymnast enters her senior season with the Tigers, and hopes to to continue building her legacy while promoting the platforms of women athletes everywhere.
