Olivia Ponton just declared her newest “book obsession” to Instagram yesterday, Dec. 21—and now, you can see it on the big screen.

In the two-slide post, debuted to her 2.8 million followers, the 23-year-old model held onto Freida McFadden’s “The Housemaid” while soaking up sun rays in an undisclosed location. “My book obsession rn,” she penned about the novel in the post’s caption. If you’re looking for Ponton's thoughts on the thriller book, which came out in 2022, you don’t have to search very far. The same day that the pair of Instagram snaps graced her feed, the content creator also delved into the novel for the newest episode of her podcast, “Booked & Busy” released on Sunday.

The near 17-minute long episode, which you can find on YouTube, marks the fourth installment on the book-centered series, following previous episodes surrounding “Fourth Wing” by Rebecca Yarros, “The Selection Series” by Kiera Cass and Lightlark and Summer in the City” by Alex Aster, respectively.

“Today, we’re stepping into the world of ‘The Housemaid’ by Freida McFadden,” Ponton told her audience in the first minute of the show’s latest episode. “Talk about a book that had its claws stuck into me. It’s a psychological thriller, that’s for one. Number two, there’s a lot of interesting power dynamics, which we love to talk about on this show. And transparently, this book had me questioning if I should be scared in my own home.”

Therefore, if you’re looking for a lighthearted read while lounging on the shore, this novel may not be your cup of tea. However, if you’re ready to be cemented to your seat, while encapsulated with unforeseen twists and turns, this novel’s got you covered. And don’t just take our word for it—here’s what Sweeney had to say about McFadden’s work.

“I could not put the book down,” the film’s leading actress, who plays Millie Calloway, told Variety at its Los Angeles premiere earlier this month. She continued, “I remember I opened it, and you know when you’re like, ‘I’m going to open this, read a couple of chapters and then go do something else,’ I did not move from my seat the moment I opened it until I finished. It was just so good.”
