SI Swimsuit Rookie Penny Lane Eats One of These French Pastries Every Single Day

We don’t blame the actress and model one bit for this daily habit.

Penny Lane.

Getting to know 2024 SI Swimsuit rookie Penny Lane was an absolute pleasure. With her contagiously bubbly personality and her many, many personal passions, the actress and model made us feel like we were chatting with a friend while on set in Porto and the North, Portugal.

Each and every personal detail added to our understanding of the health coach as a multihyphenate. While some of her revelations were a touch deeper—such as the advice she might give to her younger self or what earning a spot in the 60th anniversary issue meant to her—others were a bit more frivolous and fun.

For example, we’re betting you didn’t know that Lane eats a croissant each and every day, no matter what. Even while on set in the European country, she made sure to get her croissant.

And as a connoisseur of the French pastry, she has all the best recommendations where croissants are concerned. If you’re looking for the best, you have to go to France, according to Lane. “Anywhere you go in France, there’s pretty much a good croissant,” she assures.

But if that’s not in the cards, you can find several quality options in New York. Her favorite in the city comes from Aux Merveilleux de Fred in the West Village.

“It’s great,” she assures us. “I’ve done a croissant tour of New York, I promise you it’s the best one. If you like an authentic, crusty, buttery, a bit gnarly—it’s the one. And they’re fresh.”

Lane admits that eating a croissant each day is really “an addiction,” for her. But “I love it,” she says. We have to agree, it’s not a bad habit to have.
