SI Swimsuit model Paulina Porizkova has been featured in the magazine a total of 10 times, including her debut in 1983 and her most recent appearance in 2019.

On May 17, she celebrated Martha Stewart’s historic cover girl moment as the oldest model to grace the front of annual magazine. To commemorate the exciting news of the 81-year-old entrepreneur’s 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue cover, Porizkova shared a gorgeous duo of swimsuit photos of herself on Instagram.

“Martha Stewart is one of the four covers of this year’s SI. At 81, she’s making history as the oldest woman to be a bathing suit pinup,” she wrote. “Padma Lakshmi @padmalakshmi is another gorgeous, powerful, intelligent woman featured inside at 52. And of course I love it! We’re finally having a bit of spotlight on us seasoned women, showing us as vibrant and sexy!”

Martha Stewart was photographed by Ruven Afanador in the Dominican Republic. Swimsuit by Monday Swimwear. Cover-up by TORSO CREATIONS. Earrings by Anita Ko. Ring by Jacob & Co. Towel by Zimmermann.

She created a side-by-side collage of pics: one from 1984, in which Porizkova donned a plunging red halter-neck one-piece, and another captured in 2019, in which she wore a stringy red bikini.

Porizkova continued to admit that while she doesn’t retouch her photos, she does carefully choose and curate the ones that make it on to social media.

“I’m so happy we are finally invited back to the main tables, but - we’re expected to show up looking like our daughters,” she continued. “I am offering my sincerest admiration to these incredibly aspirational women who make age look like anything they want- and are living their best lives, sexy, vibrant and seasoned. They do make aging look great, if somewhat optional, which may be the step we need in the right direction. They will not take a seat in a corner and fade away as dictated, highlighting all of us in the process by having the spotlight turned on them and by extension, the rest of us.”
