If there’s one person we trust to make restaurant recommendations, it’s Padma Lakshmi. The 2023 SI Swimsuit model, who was photographed by Yu Tsai in Dominica this year, is the host, creator and executive producer of Hulu’s Taste the Nation. The foodie spilled the tea on her favorite New York City restaurants that make for the perfect date night. The 52-year-old lives in the Big Apple with her 13-year-old daughter, Krishna.

Lakshmi shared her top suggestions with The Infatuation and we can’t wait to try all of the New York Times best-selling author’s staples.

Semma - West Village

This Indian restaurant is located at 60 Greenwich Ave, New York, N.Y. 10011.

Lakshmi describes chef Vijay Kumar as a man of “extraordinary talent” who has created a fabulous cocktail list and a menu where every single item is a winner.

Indochine - NoHo

This fusion restaurant is located at 430 Lafayette St, New York, N.Y. 10003.

You don’t have to choose between a stylish venue and delicious food with Indochine. It’s the best of both worlds, and a perfect place to people watch, Lakshmi said.

Il Posto Accanto - East Village

This Italian restaurant is located at 190 E 2nd St, New York, N.Y. 10009.

This East Village “gem” is perfect any night of the week, as well as for a weekend brunch.

La Mercerie - Soho

This French restaurant is located at 53 Howard St, New York, N.Y. 10013.

La Mercerie is inside the Roman and Williams Guild, a great place to browse luxurious home goods while building an appetite—or walk off a delicious meal.

Hao Noodle & Tea - West Village

This Chinese restaurant is located at 401 6th Ave, New York, N.Y. 10014.

Lakshmi loves to get takeout from here and suggests ordering the fish soup.
