Cindy Kimberly’s long-awaited clothing line has finally dropped. LOBA by Cindy Kimberly hit online Revolve stores on May 10, along with a YouTube short film, Dear Mila, directed, written and starring the 24-year-old herself.
The 2022 SI Swimsuit model grew up around fashion and has always tried to express herself through her style. She quickly became a social media sensation and Instagram “it girl” in 2015 after she caught the attention of superstar Justin Bieber and he posted a selfie of her.
Kimberly, who was raised in the Netherlands and is of Spanish and Indonesian descent, won’t be pigeonholed into being a model, artist, makeup guru, creative designer, influencer and all the other various titles the internet would like to give her. LOBA is her way of putting herself out there and giving the industry what she has to offer.
“I feel like everyone is so complex as human beings, we’re not meant to just be only one thing,” she explained to Teen Vogue. “In my head, I’m really artistic but I also feel incredibly shy about it. I don’t share a lot because the internet is so cruel these days. I love art and I consume so much of it daily, so I want to participate in it; I want to open that door fully. Most people may know me on a more surface level and I’m excited to finally feel like I’m bringing something to the table.”
The line, available on on Revolve.com, is inspired by her dreams of summer in Spain, where she spent time when she was younger and returned to after living in Los Angeles for five years.
