After Simone Biles took to Instagram on Dec. 12 to share an Instagram carousel of photos from the sidelines at MetLife Stadium, several of her 7.1 million followers thought it appropriate to question whether or not she is currently pregnant in the comments section.

In the selection of pics, the 26-year-old Olympic gymnast showed off her game day style, complete with accessories that made a subtle nod to her Green Bay Packers safety husband, Jonathan Owens. She and the 28-year-old athlete started dating in 2020 and tied the knot with two wedding ceremonies this spring. For Monday Night Football, Biles wore her hubby’s jersey number on a beanie along with a duo of pendant necklaces that also included his number and last name.

And while many fans sweetly commented on her game day ensemble, others insensitively drew attention to her stomach and asked Biles if she was pregnant. It clearly struck enough of a nerve that the most decorated gymnast of all time chose to respond in an Instagram story on Wednesday.

“I hate that I even have to address this,” she wrote atop the pic of herself smiling with the NFL field in the background. “but please stop commenting on this photo or my instagram in general about me being ‘pregnant.’ I’m not pregnant.”

While the speculation by fans and followers was wildly inappropriate, hopefully Biles’s statement puts any further commentary along similar lines to rest.

“I’m so sorry you had to address this SB,” one person wrote on Biles’s post. “Ppl feel so entitled to every aspect of ppl’s lives… like seriously. Keep striving girlie. ❤️.”
