Sixtine Rouyre is a model and social media influencer, and the self-proclaimed body neutrality advocate will make her SI Swimsuit debut in the 2023 issue.

The Belgian-born model moved to Texas with her family at a young age and started modeling at 11. Seven years later, Rouyre relocated to New York City, where she began pursuing modeling full-time. She has since collaborated with brands including Target, Warby Parker, Ulta, SKIMS and Aerie.

While her career as a model really started to flourish in late 2019, it was put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of the following year. It was then that Rouyre switched her focus to growing her TikTok audience.

Today, she has a dedicated following of nearly 800,000 people on the video-based platform, where Rouyre creates content to inspire other women to love their bodies regardless of their shape or size.

Rouyre described her rookie year photo shoot with Yu Tsai in Dominica as “unbelievable.” As with her social media platforms, she stated that she hopes to continue to inspire and influence others as an SI Swimsuit rookie.

“To me, being a rookie feels powerful and strong,” she said. “I’ve always said that I never want to be just a pretty face as a model. If I have a platform, I want to be able to use it, and being a rookie allows me to do that.”

The 25-year-old’s photo shoot was an incredibly memorable occasion, as she celebrated her birthday on location in the Caribbean. Of the various swimwear looks she sported, Rouyre stated that one of her favorites was a palm leaf that was crafted into a swimsuit.

“It had straps and everything, but from the front, it just looks like I was wearing a giant palm leaf,” Rouyre shared. “So that was really fun because most swimsuits are just like on the more basic level, a couple fancy straps here and there. But that one, I was just like, ‘That’s cool.’”

With the unique perspective of a body neutrality content creator, Rouyre hopes that women will feel seen when they view the photos that resulted from her SI Swimsuit photo shoot.

“I think it’s important that people get that representation in [the] media so that they don’t feel this heavy pressure to be something that nobody is,” she stated. “Nobody looks like the girls in the magazine—even the girls in the magazine don’t look like the girls in the magazine because there’s so much that goes into it. So I hope people see themselves.”
