The 2024 tennis season is almost upon us, which means not even the holidays can keep the pros from a good practice session. But though they may have to keep playing during the Christmas season, that doesn’t mean they can’t mix in a little family time (and a little fun) while they’re at it.

That’s exactly what American tennis pro Sloane Stephens did over the holiday weekend. Christmas morning may have called for a practice session on the tennis court, but the 30-year-old made sure to have a little bit of fun while she was at it. She hit the court with her husband, American professional soccer player Jozy Altidore.

In a sweet clip that Stephens shared on her Instagram, she practiced her powerhouse serve. She aimed for and knocked over a target in the far corner of the service box on the first try, eliciting some celebratory screams and laughter from both herself and her husband.

“Christmas morning doing what I love with my loves ❤️❤️,” she wrote alongside the post. “So happy to be able to have the support of my team. I mean can you guys hear the joy in that laughter from @nico.lea & @omarelkheshen_ 😂😂😂🎄🎄🎁🎁.”

Just because her training couldn’t stop for Christmas didn’t mean that Stephens couldn’t bring the festive spirit—and her family—to the court. And that’s just what she did. The athlete is working hard, and we’re excited to see where the New Year and new season take her.
