Taylor Swift Gets Another Stamp of Approval From Travis Kelce’s Camp

Patrick Mahomes’s dad calls the pop star “genuine” and “down to earth.”

Score another one for Taylor Swift. Since her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce kicked off in 2023, Swift has been embraced by his inner circle, including his teammate and close pal Patrick Mahomes; Mahomes’s wife, Brittany; and now, another member of the Mahomes family: Patrick’s dad, former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes.

In an interview with Kansas City’s Starcade Media, Us Weekly reports that the elder Mahomes recounted his first meeting Swift, who had already done her homework on him by watching episodes of the Netflix series “Quarterback.”

“I actually walked up and introduced myself to her, and she said that she knew who I was because she had watched [Netflix’s] Quarterback series,” he explained.

Since their introduction, Mahomes says Swift’s been nothing short of gracious.

“She’s down to earth,” he continued. “She was genuine. Every time I’ve hung out with her, she just acts like a normal person.”

Swift has been a fixture at Kelce’s games, sporting a jacket with his name and enthusiastically cheering the Chiefs on from the player’s box.

The parent she’s really impressed is Kelce’s mom, Donna. “It’s been really surreal, and it’s been a fun ride to be on,” she told People of their super public whirlwind romance, which has the world watching.

Swifties, meanwhile, have set their sights on Kelce’s big brother, Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, creating fan edits of his career highlights set to Swift’s music. It’s something sports fans, unaccustomed to Swift’s intense fandom, have found bewildering yet amusing.

Posted one X user: “if you told me 8 months ago that swifties would be making edits about an eagles player (that happened to be taylor’s bf’s brother) retiring to a taylor swift song i’d have said you were crazy… look at how far we’ve come.”
