Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Nominated for People’s Choice Awards, Fans Hoping for Red Carpet Couple Debut
Ever since the People’s Choice Awards announced the nominees for the upcoming 2024 ceremony on Feb. 8, fans have begun to manifest the most epic red carpet couple debut.
Both 12-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, NFL tight end Travis Kelce, are up for their own awards. The “You Belong With Me” singer is nominated for Concert Tour of the Year for The Eras Tour, Movie of the Year for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, Social Celebrity of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year.
The Kansas City Chiefs athlete is nominated for the first time ever, in the Athlete of the Year category.
Several fans chimed in on X (formerly known as Twitter) to manifest Kelce and Swift making their red carpet debut together at the eople’s Choice Awards. However, others noted that Swift will be on the Japan leg of her “The Eras Tour” that week, so it’s unlikely. If that’s the case, it seems like the 34-year-old won’t be at the Super Bowl (if Kelce, also 34, makes it) on Feb. 11, either.
The power couple were first romantically linked in July, and the headlines have not given them a break since.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game [in September], we were a couple,” Swift revealed in her Time Person of the Year cover story. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date. When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care. The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
This year‘s People’s Choice Awards, held in Southern California, will be hosted by Barbie actor Simu Liu. Fans can vote for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards once a day from now through Jan. 19 at votepca.com.
