Katie Austin is back for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue. The fitness influencer, who was named co-Rookie of the Year in 2022—along with her BFF Christen Harper—flew to the Dominican Republic this week to stun in front of the camera.

Luckily for fans, she shared the sweetest TikTok counting down the days until her photo shoot finally arrived.

“Ahhhhh @si.swimsuit !!!!!!!” Austin captioned the Feb. 6 post.

She started the countdown at nine days. “Time until I shoot for sports illustrated swimsuit,” read the on-screen text.

Austin compiled short clips of herself in the gym, washing her face, drinking coffee, posing in front of the mirror and packing until she got to “48 hours” before her time in front of the camera in the D.R.

Austin included a snippet of herself with her suitcase, on the plane, pulling her sleep mask down, showing off her passport, in her hotel room, in the glam room and finally strutting her stuff on the beach.

“GAME TIME!!!” read the screen.

The TikTok was set to the sound of DJ Earworm’s “Decade of Pop 100 Song Mashup.” A few seconds of each song was designated to each clip in the countdown.

Austin and SI Swimsuit announced that the 29-year-old’s photo shoot was underway in a joint Instagram post on Feb. 5.

“Katie Austin 🤝 SI Swim 2023 👙,” the brand’s official account wrote. “Just wait until you see these photos!”

In another post, someone behind the camera asked Austin how her photo shoot had gone.

“It was incredible,” she gushed. “We had the best weather in the morning. We went to an island. We went boating. It was just very chill and relaxed.”

Austin added that the SI Swimsuit team was “so amazing” and made her feel more confident than ever.

As for advice she has for other women, Austin said never giving up is most important.

“Believe in yourself,” she continued. “I’m here because I submitted a tape online. You could do it, too. Keep going. Push yourself. It’ll all be worth it.”
