Back in November, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the theme for its 2024 spring exhibit and the Met Gala, which is set to take place at the beginning of May.

And today, the announcement of the co-chairs of this year’s event just made the highly-anticipated event all the more exciting. The museum just announced that Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour will serve as the official co-chairs for the Gala, which is based on the spring exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

According to a Vogue announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), the dress code for the event is “The Garden of Time,” a move that—as always—takes inspiration from the spring exhibition theme.

Of the group co-chairing this year’s event, only Hemsworth has yet to attend one of the annual celebrations. The rest have made multiple appearances, and have done so in their most refined styles.

The exhibition—and inspiration for the dress code—is, “an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” the curator in charge of the Costume Institute, Andrew Bolton, told Vogue. Moreover, he has hopes the show “will activate ... that sensorial appreciation of fashion.”

With the dress code and that directive to work with, we have no doubt that the best designers are getting to work on stunning original looks for their celebrity clients to don at the high-fashion event. We can’t wait to see what they come up with—and the no doubt fabulous styles that the co-chairs will bring to the table.
