Supermodel Gisele Bündchen recently chatted with People about everything from family life to her go-to wellness and self-care practices. In addition to admitting that she works out every single day, the 43-year-old Brazilian model revealed that meditation is key to her overall well-being.

“It’s like taking a step back and observing it like a movie, the situation happening,” she told the outlet of her meditation practice. “And even though you feel the emotions, you’re not attached to them. It’s not attaching to the emotions, it’s observing them. And when you observe them, you can take this little step of separation. It can allow you to take a breath and come in from a place where it’s not reactive, but it’s more proactive. You’re like, O.K., let me assess.”

The interview was published just days after Bündchen and 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie and wellness leader Melissa Wood-Tepperberg led a guided meditation together. The two teamed up for the Sept. 15 experiential event in New York City that celebrated Bündchen’s new partnership with Gaia Herbs.

Bündchen noted in the People interview that her go-to workouts include a mix of weighted exercises, walking and yoga.

“Being healthy is more than a clean diet and exercise,” she wrote in a March 1 Instagram post alongside an image of herself executing a beachside yoga pose. “It’s about our attitudes, emotions, beliefs, thoughts and actions. When life gets challenging always remember that the sun rises everyday bringing a new opportunity for us to try again and do better.”
