Melissa Wood-Tepperberg is not only SI Swimsuit’s newest rookie, she’s also a wellness leader who uses her platform to help people become the healthiest versions of themselves both inside and out.

The 40-year-old recently offered up some sage wisdom on the power of meditation, and we’re taking notes.

In a Jan. 31 TikTok, Wood-Tepperberg candidly shared that she feels anxious as soon as she wakes up most days, which she counters with meditation.

“The practice of meditation has really helped me in ways that I never in a million years would’ve imagined that it could,” she said. “I look at meditation just as I look at a workout. We work out to build these muscles in our bodies and we work our minds to build and strengthen these muscles in our mind.”

Wood-Tepperberg then stated that by making meditation a daily practice, things in your life will begin to shift and you will eventually become stronger.

“Meditation has literally changed my entire life,” she wrote in the caption of her video. “Start small, don’t pass judgment on any thoughts you may or may not have during the process and continue to show up for yourself every damn day. It does get easier and the shift is REAL.”

A mother of two, Wood-Tepperberg is the founder of MWH, a fitness app that offers workouts and meditations with the goal of making mindful health and wellness accessible and attainable for all.

Wood-Tepperberg has said that meditation helps her to slow down and live in the moment. She shared that she’s cultivated a daily practice for a decade and credited it with helping her to be more mindful.
