Serena Williams has been very outspoken about her workout journey postpartum. In classic fashion, the mom of two has been handling her increasingly busy home life with humor, sharing snippets of the inventive ways she gets her fitness in these days.

In one video that she shared recently, the former pro tennis player stood on a reformer and executed some leg-strengthening exercises while wearing a baby carrier across her chest. “I stay on ‘ready set’ in case I have to RUN 🏃🏿‍♀️ and grab baby @adiraohanian …. But until then - burn inner thighs, BURN,” she jokingly captioned the hilarious clip.

We appreciate the humor that she infuses into the experience of a busy parent, but more importantly, we appreciate her honesty about it. Not only does she share the comical bits, but Williams often shares her process for prioritizing movement in spite of her tight schedules.

Feb. 1 was a hectic day like any other, but Williams still made sure to get in some movement. In a story that she shared to her Instagram account, the athlete donned a gray quarter-zip and sunglasses and set out on a walk. “I’m trying to get a quick walk in while the house is quiet, the kids are sleeping—I can have a guilt-free workout and stay strong,” she said of the experience.

We appreciate that she recognized the guilt that parents can feel for stepping away and taking time for themselves. But we also appreciate that she did find that time to prioritize her own health and wellness.
