Hilary Duff Soaks in the Sun While Sharing Sneak Peek of New Song

The 38-year-old’s latest album, ‘luck... or something’ drops on Feb. 20.

As Hilary Duff fans patiently await her first studio album in over a decade, the artist is keeping enthusiasts on their toes with a short snippet of one of her eleven tracks.

The 38-year-old actress and singer-songwriter took to Instagram on Wednesday, Jan. 8, to share the original audio, which she lip-synced in a field of vibrant greenery. While the clip did not reveal the name of the ballad, she did disclose a few of its lyrics, such as “I want the highlights, 10 out of 10 / The butterflies from holding your hand / Before we swept us under the bed / And we became practically roommates.”

She also kept the post’s caption as mysterious as the unnamed tune; she solely penned a trio of emojis “🛏️✨🩵,” before separately adding a singular silly face. However, even with the limited information in the 25-second reel, fans have already cemented their love for the track and the 10 other songs that will be released with it on Feb. 20.

“Hilary. I fear this album will become my entire personality,” one user declared. At the time of publication, the sentiment had already garnered nearly 5,000 likes.

“Yup I need it,” another fan exclaimed.

“THIS IS HILARYS YEAR!!!” Another commenter predicted.

The album’s full track list, consisting of the mystery ballad and her already-released single Mature, which dropped on Nov. 6, is titled “luck... or something.” The collection follows her previous 12-song album, “Breathe In. Breathe Out,” which originally dropped back in June of 2015.

“I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry,” Duff said in a statement, per USA Today, on the concept of her latest anthology, “The album title is my way of answering that question.”

The artist added, “It’s luck, but there's also a lot of weight in the '…or something,” elaborating that much of her story is “held there.” She continued, “I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me.”

Fans will also get to hear Duff live on stage this month, as she heads out on an international excursion. The artist will make stops in four major cities: London on January 19, Toronto on January 24, New York City on January 27 and Los Angeles on January 29.

Before the album debuts, Duff will also have a three-night stint in Las Vegas from February 13 through 15, before returning to the Voltaire for three more nights in late May from the 22 through the 24. Per her site, all 10 performances are currently sold out.
