Machine Gun Kelly Just Weighed in on Those Sydney Sweeney Dating Rumors

After it was confirmed that Sydney Sweeney had split from her ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino, rumors ran rampant on who she’d start seeing next. And even though the actress herself confirmed that she was loving her single era, anytime she was seen even speaking to another man, gossip circulated. Case in point: She caused a buzz when hanging out with Machine Gun Kelly in Las Vegas this spring.
Sweeney, 27, attended the opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club on May 3, as reported by People at the time, and was spotted with multiple celebrities, also including Patrick Schwarzenegger. Photos circulated that saw the actress chatting with MGK, prompting many to question the nature of their relationship.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, MGK reacted to the romance rumors, though he didn’t exactly debunk them. During the fan Q&A portion of the show, Cohen addressed the “Vampire Diaries” musician with: “MGK, Kyle P. wants to know if there’s any truth to the rumor that you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends?”
Smirking at the question, MGK promptly answered: “Kyle P., shut up dude.”
Over on the show’s official Instagram account, fans took the rapper’s response as confirmation that something may have happened between him and Sweeney. “That’s a yes,” one declared, while another commented, “So that's a YES?? 😂.”
Currently, both Sweeney and MGK are single, though the Texas-born artist—real name Colson Baker—co-parents his 4-month-old daughter Saga with ex-fiancée Megan Fox. The pair dated on and off between 2020 and 2024, and got engaged in 2022. MGK also shares a 16-year-old daughter named Casie with his ex Emma Cannon.
Recently, MGK and Fox sparked reconciliation rumors after being spotted on vacation with their daughter in Costa Rica.
“Things feel back to ‘normal’ between them, but they are not putting a label on their relationship,” a source told Us Weekly, with a different insider adding, “They’re still being intimate and technically trying to work things out to reconcile. This trip is a big stepping stone in that direction.”
MGK’s latest album, Lost Americana, which was released on Aug. 8, has fans decoding every lyric, with many convinced they’ve discovered the lines about his relationship with Fox.
As for Sweeney, she seems to be busy with her career amid the American Eagle controversy.
