‘Superman’ Cast Is Being Dubbed This Year’s ‘Challengers’—Their Best Press Tour Moments

James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman reboot just flew into theaters on Friday, receiving glowing reviews from both critics and audiences. Whether you’re a big DC fan or not, the press tour has been inescapable, with the main cast—consisting of David Corenswet as the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor—charming the world.
There’s nothing like a good press tour to get people excited for a new release, and there’s no doubt this one has positively impacted the buzz and box office numbers for Superman. Social media users have absolutely loved the dynamic of the three actors, with some even comparing them to the trio of Challengers—Zendaya, Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist—who bewitched audiences with their strong chemistry last year.
From the red carpet to interview junkets, here are their best press tour moments.
Guessing Gen Z slang
While chatting with VT, the trio got tested on their Gen Z slang knowledge, and perhaps unsurprisingly, Brosnahan was the only one in the know. When asked what “body tea” meant, Hoult had a good guess, while Corenswet simply had no idea. “Body I would gossip about,” Corenswet confidently—and incorrectly—stated.
The world premiere
Stepping out for the Superman world premiere in style, the threesome looked awesome in Los Angeles. While Hoult and Corenswet went for classic all-black looks, their styling was anything but basic, with the Lex Luthor actor in leather pants and the Clark Kent actor in pinstripes. Brosnahan looked stunning in a floor-length purple sparkly gown.
Visiting Sesame Street
Forget Superman, I’m obsessed with Super Elmo! Corenswet and Brosnahan took a visit to Sesame Street to meet the classic character, making everyone swoon.
The London fan event
Across the pond, Corenswet, Brosnahan and Hoult looked so spiffy at a fan event in London, England. A truly versatile group, Corenswet wore an all-black outfit with a velour jacket and red bowtie, while Hoult went for gray pinstripes. Brosnahan went for sparkles again, this time serving undeniable glamour in a cut-out one-shoulder purple floor-length gown.
Copying each other’s style
Keeping fans entertained, Corenswet took to Instagram to poke fun at his Superman co-star, accusing Hoult of copying his style. Honestly, they both look so good.
Explaining internet trends
David: Explain it to me, what is "slutty little glasses"?

Nick: When you put those glasses on, you behave like that.
David: WHAT?! pic.twitter.com/ZZ0FUQ8P10
Can you tell Corenswet is not chronically online? What does that feel like? During an interview, Hoult and Brosnahan had to explain what “s----y little glasses summer” meant, but I don’t think he fully understood.
The London photocall
Corenswet, Brosnahan and Hoult very clearly made London their runway during their trip, showing up in more fabulous looks for a photocall at the Corinthia Hotel. Brosnahan went for an ultra-sweet aesthetic, wearing a black blazer mini dress with white lace accents and a belt, while Corenswet wore a brown suit and Hoult went casual with a leather jacket and tan slacks.
Getting caught in a lie
Corenswet and Hoult took part in Vanity Fair’s lie detector test to promote the superhero movie, and, of course, hilarity ensued. In this particularly funny clip, Corenswet got busted for lying about his height, while he and Hoult debated whether it’s better to round up or down.
The Los Angeles press junket
In coordinating outfits, Corenswet, Brosnahan and Hoult were an adorable trio in Los Angeles for a press junket. Leaning into grays, browns and blues, they were simply too cool while posing in sunglasses, while Brosnahan added a pop of superhero-appropriate color with her red top.
CinemaCon
These three drove audiences wild when showing up at CinemaCon earlier this year. Coordinating outfits in black and blue colors, they looked seriously great—and proved their chemistry as a group.
A cover moment
Last but certainly not least, while his two co-stars didn’t take part, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Corenswet’s GQ Hype cover. If people weren’t convinced he’d make a great Clark Kent at this point, this photo shoot definitely changed their minds. He’s classically handsome.
