We’re Obsessed With Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Banter During Their ‘New Heights’ Episode

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were almost too cute together on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast.
Swift sat down for her first-ever podcast recording (which dropped Wednesday evening), where the pop sensation chatted with the hosts—Kansas City Chiefs tight end and boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce—about everything from The Eras Tour to her reclaiming her masters to her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl. But even amid all the exciting news, there was no denying that the couple’s effortless chemistry was the real star of the show.
Even in the first clip teasing the podcast—which was posted to Instagram earlier this week—the couple’s flirtatious vibes were on full display. Swift complimented Kelce’s blue sweatshirt in the short video, and he quickly responded by saying it was the color of her eyes. “It’s why we match so well,” he teased.
At the start of the episode, the trio dove right into chatting about the humorous fact that this very podcast was—in a very real way—the entire reason Swift and Kelce began dating in the first place.
For those not in the know, back in 2023, Kelce shared the story of how he hoped to meet Swift during his visit to The Eras Tour on the podcast, but he was unable to cross paths with the superstar to give her his number so they could connect. The story went viral, and Swift quickly heard about it. As we now know, the rest is history—and for the first time, fans are learning some behind the scenes tidbits about that history, complete with some delightful banter!
“It was such a wild romantic gesture to be like, ‘I WANT TO DATE YOU.’ This dude didn’t get a meet and greet, and he’s making it everyone’s problem,” Swift joked when asked about the famous moment. She went on to describe the gesture as movie-like, adding, “[It] felt like I was in an ‘80s John Hughes movie. He was standing outside of my window with a boombox, saying, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet! Do you want to date me?!’”
“Just come outside and meet me!” Kelce added onto the joke. “Just give me a chance!”
The pair also discussed what it was like when Kelce joined Swift on stage during The Eras Tour for her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” which started as a joke between the two.
For the performance, Kelce came out onto the stage in a top hat and tails, before picking Swift up and carrying her to a couch across the stage, which Kelce admitted was the thing he was the most nervous about. Swift then giggled, noting that it was odd he was worried about lifting her as he is strong enough to “throw her over a mountain.”
They also chatted about their approach to their relationship regarding media attention and fan speculation. Swift noted that she doesn’t see much online discourse, as she chooses to avoid it for her mental health, even joking that most of the time it’s “none of [her] business.”
“I’m of the firm belief that like [...] anything you feed your brain, it will internalize. Anything you feed the internet, it’ll kill,” Swift said. “I’ve been in the music industry for 20 years; it’s pretty hard to hurt my feelings at this point.”
On the other hand, Kelce admitted it took him longer to get used to all the attention on their romance, but his decision to approach things with a sense of humor helped both him and Swift move past the scrutiny together with laughter.
