In case you missed it (which...how?!), Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, was released this Friday, Oct. 3, to much fanfare from die-hard Swiffties and new fans alike.

The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter has, of course, been quite busy all week with promotion for her latest record-breaking record, with her official social media team, Taylor Nation, even revealing a glimpse at her packed schedule. As of now, she’s already completed several of the stops, appearing on morning radio and late-night TV—and as a result, Swifites have gotten all sorts of fun tidbits and behind the scenes facts.

Still, one of the sweetest facts fans learned directly from Swift herself was both her and her fiancé’s—Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s—favorite songs from the new album. And, while these two share many things in common, it turns out a fave song isn’t one of them!

Kelce’s favorite song

In a viral TikTok now viewed over 3.7 million times, Swift sat down to chat with hosts Jordan North and Sian Welby from Capital FM Breakfast, when the three began discussing the third track on the album, titled “Opalite.” The artist quickly revealed that this was Kelce’s favorite tune—and the adorable story behind the song’s meaning makes that all the more precious.

“I think that’s his favorite. He loves that one,” Swift said with a smile. “I have favorite words, favorite phrases, things that I’ll put in an endless file of lyrics that I’m constantly going to go and cherry-pick from when I’m writing. I had written down the word ‘opalite’ because I learned that it’s actually a man-made opal—opal can be man-made just like diamonds—and Travis’s birthstone is an opal.”

As if that weren’t kismet enough, she then added, “I’ve always loved that stone, and I thought it was a cool metaphor: that it’s a man-made opal and happiness can also be man-made, too.”

Swift’s favorite song

During the same interview, as the hosts walked the singer through each track on her album, North stopped once they reached number eight. The host happily noted that this tune, titled “Wi$h Li$t,” was likely his personal favorite on the entire record—to which Swift suddenly got very excited, beaming at the kind compliment.

“Oh, that means the world to me! Because that might be my favorite, too,” Swift exclaimed. Hilariously, the host then screeched in delight, knowing they shared a favorite song with Swift.

Then, while appearing on a different radio show, Heart Breakfast, Swift shared a little more information about the meaning behind her favorite song, which definitely added some context to why it might mean so much to her, as the story it tells is a very intimate, personal one.

“It’s a song that was actually the last song that we made for the album,” Swift said. She went on, concluding, “It’s a really dreamy song, it’s a really romantic song. It details all these different things that people aspire to have in their lives, and all the wishes that people are making all over the world for things in their lifestyle or things they wanna buy or places they want to go—and then in the chorus, it talks about what mine would be.”
