Alix Earle’s Aspen Mob Wife Impression Is Spot on

The influencer had a fantastic take on the popular style.

Alix Earle is by no means the first celebrity or influencer to try the popular mob wife style on for size. She was preceded by a handful of our fashion inspirations, who have taken the social media trend and run with it—including the likes of Chrissy Teigen and Ashley Graham.

So, sure, Earle might just be joining the fray, but—in our humble opinion—few have done the style quite as well as she has. Characterized by dramatic hairdos, leather, fur and eye-catching gold jewelry, the style isn’t meant to appear unassuming. It’s designed to make a statement, and the influencer’s recent take is proof that it does just that.

During a trip to Aspen, Colo., the 23-year-old stepped out in a black mini dress, black sheer tights, ankle-length cheetah print fur coat and a matching pair of pointed cheetah print high heels. In addition to the dramatic fur, she took her mob wife look further with a pair of chunky gold earrings. And while she may not have been wearing her blonde hair in a top knot or other over-the-top hairdo, her blowout was dramatic enough to suit the style.

We could never declare one or other of the mob wife outfits our favorite—they are all incredible in their own ways—but there is something about Earle’s that is particularly impressive. We’re not surprised, though—all of her outfits have that quality to them.
