Everyone’s favorite pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne recently spoke to PhotoBook magazine about all things fashion. Throughout the piece, the Grammy Award nominee divulged everything from her style icon to her most-beloved brands.

Lavigne, 39, also shared her No. 1 favorite wardrobe staple, which honestly doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

“I will always love Dr. Martens and combat boots because I find them really comfortable,” the “Complicated” singer told the outlet. “I have always worn black hoodies too. I used to wear them really tight, and now I have been wearing them larger with a pair of combat boots and that’s my go to.”

Lavigne shared an additional bit of style wisdom during her interview, which was that no matter what you wear, it’s important to rock any outfit with confidence.

“Being confident in what you are wearing and feeling good are what makes an outfit shine,” she stated. “Your attitude is your best accessory.”
