The SI Swimsuit team loves a good skincare tip, and so does reigning co-Rookie of the Year Christen Harper. During Miami Swim Week festivities at the W South Beach in July, the three-time brand star revealed that she loves learning about the educational side of skincare on TikTok.

During an interactive game of Q&A-style Jenga, Harper revealed to fellow SI Swimsuit model Katie Austin that she’s “obsessed” with a chemist TikToker who breaks down skincare products on the video-based platform.

“She breaks down literal ingredients and explains what they’re doing,” Harper shared about Alex, the cosmetic chemist on TikTok. “She’ll go through products and talk about like, oh this vitamin C l-ascorbic acid doesn’t actually work on your skin because this ingredient’s in it, and it’s counter[intuitive].”

Harper shared that she often learns a lot about skincare and clean beauty in particular on TikTok. In fact, the 30-year-old shared her go-to no-makeup makeup routine on TikTok last fall, which features a few essential skincare products to get her coveted year-round glow. Take a peek at her routine here.

A repeat SI Swimsuit star, Harper was discovered during the Swim Search open casting call in 2021, which she co-won alongside Austin. Harper was photographed for the magazine in Atlantic City that year, and returned to the fold in ’22 after traveling to Barbados. She posed for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue in Dominica.
