Doja Cat’s New Music Video Is a Colorful Daydream Packed With Famous Faces

Doja Cat’s new music video just might be one of the most mesmerizing of the entire year.
For her latest single, “Gorgeous,” off her new studio album Vie, the singer gathered some of her famous friends to serve face for the epic, stylish music video. Models like Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser and Anok Yai starred in the fashion-forward clip, and the artist even gave the piece a SI Swimsuit flair with a cameo from Irina Shayk, who debuted with the brand back in 2007.
Other familiar faces included Alek Wek, Karen Elson, Imaan Hammam, Amelia Gray, Sora Choi, Ugbad Abdi, Yseult, Ida Heiner and Mona Tougaard. Doja Cat’s mother, Deborah Sawyer, also made an appearance in the 2025 music video.
The “Gorgeous” video is a nod to beauty commercials from the 1980s. From the random zoom-ins to the flashy products and the vibrant yet soft color grading, the entire piece is reminiscent of that golden era of marvelously ridiculous commercials. The director, Bardia Zeinali—who has worked with the likes of Dior Beauty and Vogue—certainly pulled out all the stops to make this vision come to life.
Between her music video aesthetics, album cover and overall branding for Vie, there seems to be a misperception that Doja Cat is emulating this period of time to hone in on that nostalgic factor. However, she doesn’t see it this way—instead, she created this project as a way to express how she feels about love and the fullness of the emotion.
“The album itself isn’t a period piece,” the 29-year-old said on her Instagram Live earlier this week. “It’s a personal venture into what I imagine love is and what I’ve experienced in relationships.“
She went on, adding, “There are kisses of the ‘80s here and there. Sometimes, it’s not a fully ‘80s rehash.”
In her Instagram Live, Doja Cat also addressed people who didn’t find her choice for the Vie album cover appealing. Still, she stands by her decision, reminding people of the meaning of art.
“The truth about the album cover is that it’s 100% perfect for what I’m trying to depict. Also, it’s just a cover. It doesn’t make the music sound different,” she noted. “Art is not to be understood. It’s to be interpreted one-hundred percent.”
Doja Cat’s latest album, Vie, is out now available on all major streaming platforms.
