Doja Cat is the queen of keeping her fans guessing, as the Grammy Award-winning artist has shaken her style up once again—but this time, with her hairstyle.

According to a recent Instagram post, she’s embracing her new cherry red hair color in the style of a blunt cut bob. The hue does wonders for her, giving her an extra dose of daring energy. For her new hairdo, she wore an even more daring outfit to make her hair pop, consisting of a black leather trench coat paired with thigh-high black boots.

Underneath her outfit appeared to be a pink and black patterned clothing. However, it’ll remain a mystery at this time. Perhaps she’ll reveal what's inside at a later time.

This new era of Doja Cat embodies all the things people love about the ‘80s. The electrifying, vibrant colors, the high energy, the everlasting lust for life and most importantly, that non-stop feeling of dancing the night away. She leans into this decade not only with her outfits and personality, but also with her new sound.

Doja Cat intends to go full throttle when it comes to blending her unique vibe with the classic ideas of the ‘80s genre. So far, she’s found new ways to talk about things she’s mentioned in the past, including love.

“I’ve just really enjoyed talking about things that I have talked about, but in a different way,” the 29-year-old told Zane Lowe. “I think I love talking about love, and I also think that music is just such, like, a door for talking about love and expressing love in its different forms. I mean, like, people being like ‘baby!’ in every song that’s ever been made. So, I think this is like that for me.“

Continuing, she added, “This is my ‘baby, baby’ album. It’s kind of that ‘80s tacky like romance sort of spin, but in a way that relates to me personally.”

As for why she chose this particular decade to emulate in her upcoming project, Doja Cat tells Lowe the time period simply sparked her curiosity since—as a '90s baby—she doesn't know how it felt to be alive during that time.

“You know what it is? It’s the ‘80s reminds me—I know nothing about it. Let me start there because I’m 29 [years old]. I was born in ‘95. [...] It’s like you think of your friends’ parents or whatever, the past and what you never could have been, and you’re like, ‘I want to understand that more, and I want to depict it in my own way. Maybe give it a modern twist or something.’ But there’s comfort in that.”
