Fans and Magazines Can’t Stop Talking About Canadian Model Lauren Chan’s NYFW Looks

The 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie is always on top of her fashion game.

Lauren Chan was the talk of the town during New York Fashion Week. The Canadian model, who was featured as a rookie in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue, dropped some ultra chic and newsworthy looks recently and everyone has noticed.

Major outlets including Bustle, Vogue, Elle, Fashionista and Models.com have written about the former Glamour fashion features editor.

“My most memorable jobs have been with the iconic institutions where I didn’t previously see folks like me represented: Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Victoria’s Secret and fashion week runways come to mind,” she told Fashionista. “I’m all about a game-changing gig!”

“NYFW SS24 PRESS 🗞️ Thank you, @voguemagazine, @elleusa, @wwd, @modelsdot, @fashionista_com, @si_swimsuit, and @bustle! 🖤,” the Toronto native wrote on an Instagram post featuring screenshots from various newsworthy articles.

“Yes yes yes alllllll the YES!!!!👏👏👏,” SI Swimsuit editor in chief MJ Day commented.

“An icon congrats babe,” content creator Sasha Exeter added.

“🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” designer Christian Siriano chimed.

“Love this so much 👏 you deserve it,” one fan wrote.

“You are both amazing and hot !!” another noted.

Chan, who is the founder of ethical plus-size clothing brand Henning, walked in Siriano’s 25th anniversary runway show held in Manhattan’s The Elizabeth Collective on Sept. 7.

“We’ve evolved so much and I think that in fashion right now, we can kind of see a little bit of a slide back away from size inclusion,” she said while on location during her SI Swimsuit magazine photoshoot in the Dominican Republic. “It’s important to remember to keep doing what we do because it’s up to us to keep that top of mind, keep pushing for inclusion, to keep reminding people that they’re not what they look like, so that we don’t get back there because there’s the very real potential to end up that way.”
