Florence Pugh Dazzles in Crimson Peplum Dress With Bold Accessory
Florence Pugh can pull off absolutely anything—including the polarizing peplum. The Don’t Worry Darling actress attended the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards on Feb. 5 and looked stunning in a bold and daring look.
Pugh, who took home the award for British/Irish Actress of the Year, wore a strapless floor-length crimson gown with a voluminous peplum at the waist from Robert Wun’s spring-summer 2023 couture collection. She accessorized with an asymmetrical top hat in the same color, which featured a long, sheer red veil. Pugh kept her other accents minimal with a few Tiffany & Co. jewels.
Her stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, showed off Pugh’s outfit for the evening on Instagram. “First look of 2023 for @florencepugh ❤️,” she wrote in her caption.
Makeup artist Alex Babsky opted for bold brows, fresh skin and a rosy lip on the star, while Hyungsun Ju swept the 27-year-old’s hair into a sleek updo underneath her headwear.
Fans showered both Pugh and Corbin-Murray with compliments in the comments section of the IG post.
“It’s giving Parent Trap wedding photo shoot montage. ✨,” wrote one person, referencing the 1998 Lindsay Lohan film.
“It’s giving widow who married him for the money vibes and I love!” piped in another.
“literally just died dead 💘,” quipped someone else, while another follower stated, “throwing down the gauntlet for the year!!!”
Wun stated that his latest collection, titled “Fear,” is “about the desire to conquer fear” and the ability “to embrace it and turn it into something empowering and beautiful.”
We have to wonder, is the peplum making a resurgence? In addition to Pugh’s radiant outfit, Reese Witherspoon rocked a baby blue peplum dress at a movie premiere last week—see the pics here.
