Jenna Ortega Ditches All-Black Style for Khaki Combo at the Sundance Film Festival

When you think of Jenna Ortega, you likely think of her countless incredible all-black looks.
The actress has become known for her elevated takes on classic gothic fashion, with her red carpet style typically incorporating a dark, monochromatic palette and dramatic cuts, channeling her Wednesday character’s all-black aesthetic. Still, that doesn’t mean Ortega can’t absolutely rock a more neutral color palette, which is precisely what she reminded fans of while walking the red carpet at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival over the weekend.
Styling & glam
While attending the premiere of her upcoming film The Gallerist, the actress wore a decidedly different look, straying from her usual goth-adjacent style to instead embrace an all-khaki moment. According to Vogue, the stunning ensemble comes from Mugler’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection (which should come as no surprise, as Ortega looked like she stepped right off a runway).
The outfit comprised a light tan, long-sleeve, button-up, collared top with slightly darker paneling on the sleeves, which had been tucked into a truly unique skirt. Cut in a midi length, the bottom featured harness-like detailing at the waist, trailing down into the attached skirt, which hit the actress just above the ankles. Ortega accessorized the look further with sparkling silver jewelry on her ears and hands, capping the ensemble off with a pair of khaki-colored pointy-toed pumps from Le Silla.
Ortega kept her signature long, dark locks sleek and straight, parting her hair down the center for a dramatic edge. When it came to her makeup, the actress kept things simple, highlighting her bleached brows with matte skin, rosy cheeks and a glossy berry lip.
Sundance sensation
As noted above, Ortega was attending the festival to celebrate the premiere of her latest film, The Gallerist. Starring alongside Natalie Portman and a stacked cast including Sterling K. Brown, Zach Galifianakis, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the dark comedy follows an art dealer desperate to make a name for herself by any means necessary. Portman plays the titular character, with Ortega acting as her assistant.
Of the role, Ortega told Deadline, “It was very fun for me. It’s been a while since I played kind of a zany character like that, who was very expressive and almost over-the-top at times.”
The film’s lead actresses met on the red carpet for a few snapshots, where Portman and Ortega posed alongside fellow superstar and Sundance Film Festival attendee Charli XCX. The BRAT singer also appeared to have gotten Ortega’s fashion memo on wearing dramatic, sculptural, khaki-colored designer ensembles, as her look was just as unique, which proved to be fitting for a movie about the art world.
