Kerry Washington donned a gorgeous and unique brown-and-blue checkered dress with matching opera gloves while on a press tour for her latest dramedy series, UnPrisoned

She was styled by Law Roach, who paired the stunning Emilia Wickstead dress, fresh from the designer’s fall-winter 2023 collection, with chunky gold Jenna Fisher hoops and white pointed-toe stilettos from Christian Louboutin. Her hair was slicked back into a long extended pony by Takisha Sturdivant-Drew.

Makeup artist Billie Gene opted for a complementary pop of color with a blue washed eyeshadow moment and extra dramatic false lashes. He also added a generous amount of blush and topped the 46-year-old’s glam off with a glossy nude lip.

Washington showed off her outfit on Instagram, where tons of fans ran to the comments to leave sweet messages and compliment the Scandal alumna’s glowing skin and outfit.

“She cute CUTE😍,” chirped Taraji P. Henson.

“Serving us like this on #internationalwomensday 😍🔥,” quipped the official Unprisoned IG account.

“Holy shiz, Checkmate! …right,” piped Marshall Cook. “Bc of the… Ok see ya later!”

“That dress is everything Queen & you’re wearing it so well 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” one fan gushed.

“slayin on reg as per usual,” another chimed.

Washington wore the dress to the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she chatted with the host about her new series and on-screen role as the daughter of a formerly incarcerated person. She also admitted that her favorite week of her life—besides her honeymoon with former NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha—was when she hosted Saturday Night Live in 2013.

The Hulu original show, which consists of eight episodes, premiered on the streaming platform Friday.

Washington added she loves both drama and comedy shows, and UnPrisoned is the perfect mix of both. She said her favorite part about it, however, has nothing to do with the genre.

“There are 80 million Americans living with criminal records,” she explained on the first episode. “So this show is really about so many of us because either we have a criminal record, or many of us love somebody who has a criminal record.”
