Lauren Chan Brings Back Bold, Y2K-Friendly Combo on Red Carpet

The multihyphenate is bringing this early 2000s staple style into 2026.

While the early 2000s sit over two decades behind us as we welcome the 2026 year, don’t be fooled—Y2K fashion is not a thing of the past. In fact, plenty of era-defining styles have been on our radar recently, with denim-on-denim making a case for a major comeback.

One of the latest celebs to bring the timeless trend into the new year is Lauren Chan. The model and newlywed—who married her partner, Haley Kosan, in October—headed to the set of “On Brand with Jimmy Fallon” in a monochromatic ensemble that highlighted the fashion fabric and shared her entire look to Instagram today, Jan. 8.

Chan’s nostalgic look

For the TV personality’s outfit, Chan repped a dark-washed pair of jeans with a cropped button-up top of the same navy hue. The model also added a long-sleeve button-up jacket with silver hardware to contrast her top’s bronze buttons, which grazed her shins, and she completed her look with close-toed ivory pumps.

However, Chan’s handful of statement accessories took her look to another level. She stuck to silver jewelry with a stack of chunky bracelets and oversized hoops and donned a pair of aviator glasses with clear lenses as she posed on the carpet on location. In the tenth frame of the 13-slide carousel, the model also tried on an indigo-colored cap with her tailored display.

If you’re feeling extra inspired by Chan’s latest ensemble, Emily DiDonato’s solid set is the perfect example of how you can rep an all-denim look for any daytime errand. The fellow model paired a button-up long-sleeve with wide-leg jeans and finished off her look with a textured tote bag, leather heeled booties, espresso-colored sunglasses and dainty jewelry.

Christen Goff has made her love for a denim combo quite clear. The model’s Instagram features several looks in the material—like this sideline ‘fit that she wore while cheering on her husband, Jared Goff, and the Detroit Lions. If you’re heading to the stands anytime soon, take a page out of the model’s book by snagging a bomber jacket in the fabric and pair it with your favorite jeans.

For a night out

Plus, denim can be an eye-catching option for your next girls’ night out outfit. XANDRA, for example, elevated the fabric with a mock-neck tank, micro shorts and a pair of knee-high boots.
