Yumi Nu visited the New York Stock Exchange on the morning of May 18 and had the honor of ringing the iconic bell at 9:30 a.m. signaling the opening of the world’s largest stock exchange.

The SI Swimsuit model, who made her debut with the magazine the year before landing the magazine’s cover in 2022, was joined by ’23 cover star Brooks Nader and NCAA athlete Olivia Dunne.

The three women and some members of the SI Swimsuit team, including editor in chief MJ Day, did the honors at 11 Wall St. to celebrate the launch of the 2023 issue.

Nu, who is of Japanese and Dutch descent, is also a musician and founder of clothing line Blueki.

“The SI Swimsuit Issue is so very different from what it was 20 years ago and without like-minded women that power this issue and grace its pages and do such incredible jobs of representing this brand and what we stand for outside of the pages, we would not exist,” Day said in a speech at the event. “Yumi, who was on our 2022 cover last year, [thank you for] everything that you bring to the table and how you represent us and how you very, very unselfishly have put yourself out there and had posted a lot of important conversations about inclusion and about self-confidence.”
