Angel Reese is taking her talent to Netflix screens, once again.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Tuesday, Jan. 20, that the two-time WNBA All-Star and Chicago Sky forward is joining to the cast of The Hunting Wives for its second season. She will have a “co-starring role” as “Trainer Barbie,” per the outlet. Reese, 23, made first her feature film appearance in A House of Dynamite, which was released by the streaming service on Oct. 24, following its international theater debut on Oct. 10.

Fans react

While Netflix hasn’t disclosed when The Hunting Wives Season 2 will return to the platform—its inaugural season dropped on July 21, 2025—one of its leading ladies, Brittany Snow, revealed that the cast and crew began filming the show’s sophomore campaign in mid-November 2025. It was originally announced that the series was returning for a second season roughly two months prior, on Sept. 14, 2025.

Although fans will have to hang tight before witnessing Reese’s latest on-screen endeavor, they have already expressed their excitement for her involvement in the franchise.

“Booked and busy Barbie! Love this so much for her," one Instagram user commented underneath a joint post between Reese, Strong Black Lead and the official account for The Hunting Wives.

Another fan penned to the same post, which featured Reese seemingly on set in a forest green polo tee, black leggings and sneakers, “SHE CAN DO IT ALL 🎬.”

What’s next on The Hunting Wives?

At the time of publish, there is no trailer available for the second season of the Netflix drama, which stars Snow, who plays Sophie O'Neil, and Malin Akerman, who stars as Margo Banks. However, Netflix's Tudum gives a brief glimpse of what’s in store: “Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

As for Snow, she already has high hopes for the franchise’s next chapter. On the red carpet of the Golden Globes earlier this month, she told Entertainment Tonight, “They said that we couldn’t top last year and somehow I think we are doing it.”

The 39-year-old actress, who most-recently starred as Nina Jarvis in the Netflix series The Best in Me, also added, “I think people are going to be very shocked. I think people are going to be angry. I think people are going to be surprised and excited. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing to say, but definitely people should watch.”
