Ariana Grande Shares Message for Fans Who Think She Will ‘Abandon’ Music

Ariana Grande took to Instagram this week to assure her passionate fanbase of one thing in no uncertain terms: she will be returning to music. But it might “not look exactly like it did before.”
The pop sensation released her most recent album, titled Eternal Sunshine, last year to much praise from fans. However, she has spent the better part of 2024 and 2025 promoting the Academy Award-nominated film adaptation of Wicked, which will release its highly anticipated second part later this year. Still, with all of this focus on filmmaking—especially considering the recent announcements of more major roles in Meet the Parents 4 and Oh, the Places You’ll Go!—her fans have begun to wonder if perhaps Grande is shifting away from music.
But as it turns out, those rumors couldn’t be further from the truth.
Posting a message to Instagram this week alongside a clip of herself singing at last year’s Met Gala, Grande sent a very clear message about her future plans.
“very silly of you all to assume that just because i have my hands full with many things that i plan to abandon singing & music … !!!” The Grammy-winner started. “it is and has always been my lifeline. there will need to be room made for all of it. 🧚🏼♂️.”
She then went on to reiterate that she plans to continue making music, but also confirmed that music will have to make room for her other talents in the future, which include acting—the very place where the superstar got her start on hit Nickelodeon shows like Victorious and Sam & Cat.
“God forbid a girl makes a few MAJOR, AWARD WINNING, BOX OFFICE SMASH, side quests✨💁🏽♀️,” SI Swimsuit model Kamie Crawford wrote in the comments.
“It’s been wonderful to watch you evolve and grow! You deserve to be able to continue that evolution & journey into the next chapter of your inspiring career. We will be cheering you on in the process 🤗🤍,” fashion designer Hayden Williams applauded.
“You are a vision, a genius and a woman who can do what she wants!!” Makeup artist Ash K Holm added. “I love seeing you win & make all your dreams come true. ❤️ ☁️”
As noted above, Grande has had her hands full prepping for the release of Wicked: For Good, the second part of the lauded Broadway musical adaptation. Grande also earned a coveted Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her work in the first film, with many fans excited to see what will come next for her beloved character Glinda.
In short, fans now know at least one thing for certain: Grande may be busy promoting Wicked: For Good, but she isn’t leaving music for good.
