Camille Kostek Dishes on Secret Relationship With Rob Gronkowski During Patriots’ Super Bowl Win
Last Friday, SI Swimsuit models Camille Kostek, Katie Austin and Christen Harper served as cohosts of a special SiriusXM Super Bowl LVII broadcast on Radio Row.
During the segment, Kostek revealed that the last time she was in Arizona was in 2015, when the Patriots were in the Super Bowl and she was a cheerleader for the team. At the time, the ’19 SI Swimsuit Issue cover model was secretly dating now-retired Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
She noted that the two had been dating for two years at that point but kept things under wraps since cheerleaders and players fraternizing was against team rules.
“We were dating and it was actually kind of crazy, it was such a life moment for us that we’ll never forget, but we couldn’t even like run in each other’s arms on the field,” she said of the team’s win over the Seahawks.
Since the two couldn’t make their relationship known, Kostek said they would sneak glances at one another throughout the game and during the after-game celebration.
“He’s up on stage with the Lombardi Trophy... and I was down with all the cheerleaders, like with our pom poms and throwing confetti and doing snow angels in the confetti... I remember, like we would make eye contact and when you’re hiding something, don’t you feel like everybody can almost see it but no one’s paying attention?” she asked Austin and Harper. “We would make one little eye glance at each other and be like, ‘Oh my gosh.’”
Kostek noted that she would whisper, “I love you,” and, “I’m so proud of you,” to Gronk from the sidelines. She added that at the time, she was trying to manifest her goal of becoming an SI Swimsuit model into reality.
“I was dreaming of the day that I could be a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, so to be at Super Bowl back here on this side is really cool,” she gushed.
Kostek joined the franchise during the brand’s Swim Search in 2018 and landed the cover of the magazine the following year. She’ll return for the ’23 issue this spring.
