Cindy Crawford just unlocked a memory for movie critics, pop culture fanatics and fashion gurus alike. The supermodel shared a stunning throwback photo of her iconic bright red Versace gown that she wore to the 63rd annual Oscars in 1991.

It was a historic moment because that year was the first time a Versace gown had ever been worn on the Academy Awards red carpet—and who better to make that debut than Crawford?

“1991 at the 63rd #AcademyAwards — wearing @versace,” she captioned the March 12 post. “It was actually the first time a Versace gown had ever been worn on the red carpet.”

“I had walked their runway in a similar dress so when I found out I was going to the Oscars, I asked Gianni if he could make it in red,” she continued. “He said yes and the rest is fashion history ❤️.”

The dress featured a plunging sweetheart neckline, halter criss-cross straps, a low back and a mile-high slit. Several fans and celebrity friends chimed into the 57-year-old’s comments to note how “iconic,” “legendary” and “unforgettable” the look was.

“Will never forget that moment ❤️❤️,” stylist Samantha McMillen wrote.

“Wow what a moment!!” Harry Josh chirped.

“Cindy, you truly will remain the OG forever,” one fan gushed. “The 90’s era will never be compared. Love you.”
