Sloane Stephens may just have fallen in the the Round of 32 of the Dubai Tennis Championships, but she’s not letting it get to her. She’s using it as motivation.

Her Feb. 20 straight sets loss to the No. 1 seed Iga Świątek surely wasn’t the finish that she was hoping for in the fifth tournament of her 2024 tennis season, but she’s logging it as a learning experience and looking ahead to her next competition.

The American professional tennis player recently took to her Instagram to share her positive attitude and a series of powerful snaps from her recent weeks on the court. The first photo featured an action shot of Stephens, who showed her power as she stepped into a one-handed backhand during a match.

“Still working 💫,” she wrote in the caption of the post, expressing her continued motivation and positive approach to her game.

The 30-year-old, who currently stands at No. 41 in the WTA rankings, has high hopes for the 2024 season. “I don’t know about you guys but I feel like we’re out the gates and we hit the track running in 2024,” she said in an Instagram post following her Australian Open exit. “I’m miles ahead of where I was this time last year and I’m pumped and excited to keep the energy going.”

Stephens, whose highest ranking of No. 3 came in the summer of 2018, following her 2017 US Open win, has hopes of getting back to that higher level of success. And, as she said, she’s “still working” for it.
