Sydney Sweeney Is the Queen of Fall Layers While Traveling in London

Sydney Sweeney is off to London, and she’s greeting England in style.
The actress has been on a worldwide press tour over the last couple of weeks ahead of her latest release, The Housemaid—a psychological thriller based on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden. During her travels, she’s styled plenty of fun, flirty, everyday looks, and this week was no exception. In fact, she took a break from trekking around London to give her 25.5 million Instagram followers a quick lesson in layering looks (and also, a masterclass in mirror selfies).
The queen of fall layers
For the cover snapshot of the 17-photo carousel, Sweeney sported a timeless autumnal ensemble made up of multiple staple pieces every fashion lover likely already has stocked in their closet. The actress layered a tan mini skirt with a daring slit up one side atop a simple pair of sheer black tights. From there, she added a long-sleeved gray top underneath a trendy, oversized black coat.
The unique winterwear piece provided plenty of warmth while also adding texture to the overall outfit, courtesy of the thick leather and plush sherpa-style material, the latter of which formed a vest-like shape, creating the illusion of yet another layer. She accessorized the look with a pair of thin mirrored sunglasses and a matching handbag from celeb-favorite brand Miu Miu.
Still, her lovely lesson in layering wasn’t the only fashion-forward moment the actress highlighted in her London photo drop. Other snapshots showed Sweeney prepping for a bike ride in a dreamy cocoa-brown trench coat, riding horseback with Kaylee McGregor and enjoying some skincare time while soaking in a hot tub.
The cover of Sports Illustrated
This week has certainly been an exciting one for the actress, as she was also featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Dec. 15 issue alongside Christy Salters Martin, whom Sweeney portrayed earlier this year in the biopic, Christy.
Sweeney’s transformative performance received praise upon the film’s release, with the star earning the Achievement in Acting Award at the 2025 Hamptons International Film Festival and the Spotlight Award from the SCAD Savannah Film Festival.
“Honored to share the [Sports Illustrated] December cover with [Christy Salters Martin] the first female boxer ever to appear on the magazine’s cover back in 1996 🥊 Our film CHRISTY is available officially today on VOD on Amazon Prime and others,” Sweeney wrote in a caption on Instagram alongside their Sports Illustrated cover. “This is the most important film I’ve ever made.”
