Model and tech entrepreneur Karlie Kloss was honored as a Fashion Icon at the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Future of Fashion Celebration and Honors on Wednesday. The event, hosted by three-time SI Swimsuit model Ashley Graham, took place in New York City.

The same day, Kloss shared both her striking outfit for the occasion and her gratitude on Instagram. She donned a bright red Schiaparelli jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and intricate golden straps for the event. Makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes opted for a bold crimson lip to match, while hairstylist Erickson A swept Kloss’s locks into a sleek and wavy blowout, which was tucked behind her ears.

“As a 13 year old girl from St Louis, Missouri, the idea that I would someday receive an award as a ‘Fashion Icon’ would have been unfathomable,” the 30-year-old mom-to-be wrote, adding that working alongside the FIT community has been a privilege.

“What excites me most is how committed the next generation is to catalyzing real change in our industry + the world… the future is very bright,” she added.

Kloss and Graham were photographed ahead of the event on the red carpet, before the 2016 SI Swimsuit Issue model presented Kloss with her award. Graham, 35, donned a figure-hugging black dress that was anything but basic and paired the ensemble with strappy heels.
