Taylor Swift Makes History With the Most No. 1 Albums of Any Female Singer
Taylor Swift breaks a record with every record she releases. The artist, who is on her famous, constantly-sold-out, viral Eras Tour right now, landed her 12th No. 1 album.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was released on July 7 and debuted at the top of the charts, making history as she is now the woman with the most No.1 albums. The 30-track album is the third of the “You Belong With Me” singer’s re-records, and 13th overall.
Swift was previously tied with “Cry Me A River” singer Barbra Streisand at 11 No. 1 albums. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is also 2023’s biggest album release to date with 716,000 equivalent album units sold in its debut week.
Swift is also dominating Spotify’s charts and holds 23 spots on the streaming platform’s U.S. Top 50, 17 slots on the Global Top 50 and 60% of the U.S. Top 10.
The original Speak Now album, owned by the Scooter Braun-acquired Big Machine Records, was released in October 2010 and featured 14 tracks, plus an additional eight on the deluxe version. Swift re-recorded those 22 tracks and pulled eight songs out of the vault, including “I Can See You” which holds the No. 5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
