Selena Gomez proved she has a great sense of humor while joking about embracing the single life. The Only Murders in the Building actress shared a TikTok on Feb. 21 in which she lip-synced along to a sound about the turmoils of modern dating.

“Guys, I figured out the reason why I’m single,” the 30-year-old singer mouthed. “Apparently you have to go outside and meet people, like you actually have to go outside and talk to them. It’s gonna be a ‘no’ for me.”

Gomez wore a casual black sweater, wristwatch and gold hoop earrings in the video clip, while her hair was pulled back into a high pony. She held a reusable coffee cup in her hand as she mimicked the audio.

“You know what I mean?” the “My Mind & Me” singer—who has previously been linked to Justin Bieber, Taylor Lautner and Nick Jonas—quipped in the caption.

Plenty of Gomez’s 47 million followers on the platform sympathized in the comments, while others gave the star a well-deserved confidence boost. The post racked up nearly 13 million views and 12,000 comments in just over half a day.

“always remember that ur SELENA GOMEZ and ur PERFECT,” gushed one person.

“imagine socializing by choice 😪 could never be me,” someone else quipped.

“Literally me 😭,” another fan concurred.

While she may not currently be tied down, Gomez recently revealed to Vanity Fair that she’s busy working on new music, and the subject matter of relationships plays a huge part in her art.

“The music I’m doing right now is about real things that I’m walking through. It’s really powerful, strong, very pop,” she stated. “The theme generally is freedom—freedom from relationships, freedom from the darkness.”
