The Kid LAROI Talks Tate McRae Relationship Amid Those Breakup Rumors

The Kid LAROI shuts down social media rumors while also seemingly confirming his split from Tate McRae.

The Kid LAROI is putting inaccurate allegations against him to bed while also seemingly confirming his breakup with Tate McRae. Taking to social media to address accusations, he even went as far as to attach evidence in the form of text messages.

Pop culture X account @buffys posted a screenshot of lyrics from the Australian artist’s 2025 song "HOT GIRL PROBLEMS,” asking social media who the song may be about. Not only does it insinuate infidelity, but also social climbing. Multiple users came forward, theorizing that the person in question may be none other than McRae.

A McRae fan account then took these tweets, compiled them into one post and purported that The Kid LAROI and his team employed these popular accounts to destroy McRae’s image.

Fed up with the lies, the 21-year-old rapper wrote in response, “So yall know I have NOTHING to do with this and I DO NOT co sign this behavior whatsoever. working to get these removed.”

He attached a screenshot of an internal conversation between him and his team, asking if they had any knowledge of the situation. If his team wasn’t behind it, he asked if they could work to take it down, as he doesn’t want to jeopardize the “good terms” he and McRae are on. As the image reads, his team denied any participation, stating, “definitely didn’t come from us that’s f--kd up.”

The early beginnings of the two musicians’ relationship date back to January 2024, when they went out for dinner after McRae posted a snap of her seemingly wearing a T-shirt of the “Stay” singer on Instagram. From there, they were seen out multiple times, including at a Super Bowl party that Justin and Hailey Bieber attended.

It wasn’t until April 2024 that the two officially confirmed their relationship with The Kid LAROI shouting it from the rooftops at his show in Dublin.

A few birthday shoutouts here, a couple more sightings there, a bit of confessions sprinkled in via various media outlets and, most importantly, a song together, titled “I Know Love,” only further cemented the love these two shared for each other. But sadly, they started sparking breakup rumors this month.

“[McRae is] the hardest working artist I’ve ever met in my entire life. And I don’t say that because she’s my girlfriend,” The Kid LAROI told Elle just last month. “Seeing how hard she works inspires and encourages me to follow along and do the same. There’s something really, really motivating about that — and really attractive as well.“

McRae has yet to speak out on the alleged social media slander or the status of her relationship with the rapper. The Canadian singer is currently on hiatus from her Miss Possessive tour, but will resume in August with a stop in Minnesota.
