Brittney Nicole, a 2024 SI Swimsuit rookie, is on her health and wellness grind and sharing her best kept secret with fans for the New Year.

The Naval contractor, who is originally from Augusta, Ga., loves to incorporate turmeric into her diet because of its mind and body health benefits. She talked through some of the ingredient’s most beneficial factors in a recent Instagram video as she filmed herself making a batch of small daily wellness shots, which also included lemon, pineapple and ginger.

“One of the best ways to improve your gut health is by taking one of these shots every morning. You can prep these in advance up to seven days in the fridge or store them in the freezer for up to 30 days. The star of the show today is turmeric,” she said in a voiceover. “Turmeric has some serious potent properties. It has a huge impact on the brain and nervous system. It’s been tested to show significant improvements with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It also has very potent cardiovascular effects in helping lower blood sugar, decreasing lipids, helping slowing down the formation of plaque and clogged arteries. If there is such thing as a superfood, this would be the one.”

Nicole highlighted the main ingredient in turmeric, curcumin, and all the benefits it can have on the mind and body.

“It is both an anti-inflammatory & antioxidant agent that has the ability to heal wounds, brighten dark circles and reduce acne scarring,” the 31-year-old explained in her caption. “In order to experience the full effects of curcumin, add black or white pepper to your shots to increase the absorption. From a microbe standpoint, turmeric is a powerful antimicrobial. Antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fugal & anti-patristic.If there’s one food to consume on a regular basis, I say it should be turmeric. The benefits are unreal.”

Nicole, who was a co-winner of the 2023 Swim Search open casting call, is set to appear in this year’s 60th anniversary SI Swimsuit Issue.

She has been stationed all over the world as a government contractor including Guam, Spain, Israel and Japan, and has worked on powerful projects like building schools. The fitness and bodybuilding enthusiast has also found a passion in modeling over the past several years, and walked the runway during New York Fashion Week.
