How Embracing Body Neutrality Has Improved This Model’s Relationship With the Gym

Sixtine, a rookie in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue, hopped on the Roman Empire trend.

Sixtine chimed in to the current Roman Empire trend on social media with a firm stance: “as women, our Roman Empire is thinking about our body every day.”

The 25-year-old model and body neutrality influencer stitched another user’s video and encouraged her followers to watch the full clip, while adding her own commentary on body positivity.

“This is the exact reason why I switched from body positivity to body neutrality,” Sixtine explained. “Because at the end of the day, with body positivity, you’re still thinking about your body every single day, and more specifically, you’re thinking about it in terms of how it looks.”

With body neutrality, she shared that she instead focuses on how her body functions and what it can do for her, like carry groceries home from Trader Joe’s or get up six flights of stairs, rather than how it appears. The mentality has even improved her relationship with her fitness routine, she noted.

“And this shift in focus has allowed me to also create a consistent gym routine, because now I don’t go to the gym like under the idea that I want to look a certain way or make my body look good,” Sixtine stated. “I’m just going so that I can be strong enough to live my damn life.”

Plenty of the 2023 SI Swimsuit rookie’s 838,500 followers on the platform chimed in to the comments section to thank Sixtine for sharing her point of view.

“Thank you for this. Timing couldnt be more perfect,” one person wrote. “Really needed to hear these reminders. Appreciate your content! ❤️.”

“Yessss!!! Neutrality!!! It’s JUST A BODY!!!! Let it do what it needs to do,” someone else added.
