Top Chef host and best-selling author Padma Lakshmi attended the red carpet premiere of the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City on May 18, and the magazine star dished out some great advice.

After posing for photos on the carpet, Lakshmi chatted with reporters and shared her top confidence tips with Women’s Health.

“Honestly, the secret to feeling your most confident is to focus on your accomplishments and to try and achieve the goals that you think are important to you as far as professionally or creatively or even, you know, in your relationships,” the Taste the Nation star shared. “I think that is what makes you feel beautiful, because it also takes the focus away from just what you look like, and it took me years to figure that out. … What matters is really feeling fulfilled and feeling productive, whatever that means to you.”

Laskshmi was photographed by Yu Tsai in Dominica for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue.

“YES YES & YES!!! Thank you Padma,” a fan commented on the publication’s Instagram post. “I couldnt have said it any better! You are a bold, beautiful & wise woman. Every woman needs to hear this.”

“So well said, and a welcome inspiration! ❤️,” someone else concurred.

“Your encouraging words will inspire countless young ladies! ❤️,” another follower noted.
