Pro snowboarder Brenna Huckaby regularly uses her social platforms to uplift others with messages of body positivity and self-love. On May 1, the one-time SI Swimsuit model shared a trio of mirror selfies rocking a navy blue swimsuit—and offered some important and inspiring thoughts in the caption.

“2014 Brenna would be shocked to know we don’t wear shorts with our swimsuit anymore 🫣,” Huckaby, who posed for the magazine in 2018, wrote. She went on to add that after her right leg was amputated (as a result of rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma) and experiencing other changes in her body, she was sometimes uncomfortable in her own skin.

“It took me years to get to a place where I could confidently show up as myself, swimsuit bottoms and all,” the mom of two admitted. “And, to be honest, I still have moments of insecurity today. However, I now have tools that allow me to move through body insecurity and into body acceptance and positivity.”

Huckaby, 27, then listed the top 10 methods she uses to accept her body on a regular basis, including: “Write a love letter to yourself,” “List out your proudest accomplishments,” “Dance like no one is watching!” and more.

Plenty of Huckaby’s 117,000 IG followers thanked her for her honesty and vulnerability in the comments.

“Awesome,” one person stated. “Being a prosthetist, I love success stories like yourself. You are an inspiration!! 🙌.”

“👏💪❤️ this post is so powerful!” someone else added.

“My role model I love you I’m trying all these tips,” another fan wrote.
